Development length of glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) rebar based on non-uniform bond stress

چکیده

Due to the assumption of uniform bond stress, development length fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) bars by design standards can be unnecessarily long and difficult provide in practice. Hence, stress distribution required a glass (GFRP) rebar is investigated. Four beam-bond specimens, two following RILEM specifications based on procedure ACI are tested evaluate effect test method strength. Ten pullout tests also performed using same bar. The methods yield similar results, but easier perform. beams highly nonlinear approaches uniformity. actual found 50% 250% less than that aforementioned standards. Consequently, new equation proposed logistic growth function model non-uniform estimate length.

Flexural and Impact Properties of Stainless Steel based Glass Fibre Reinforced Fibre Metal Laminate under Hygrothermal Conditioning

Fibre metal laminates (FMLs) have appeared as the most suitable materials for shipbuilding, aeronautical and aerospace applications due to their superior mechanical properties over traditional materials. In this paper, degradation in flexural and impact properties of glass fibre/epoxy composite (GF/E composite) and stainless steel glass fibre/epoxy fibre metal laminate (SS FML) due to hygrother...

Machinability of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) composite materials

This paper deals with the study of machinability of GFRP composite tubes of different fiber orientation angle vary from 30 to 90. Machining studies were carried out on an all geared lathe using three different cutting tools: namely Carbide (K-20), Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) and Poly-Crystalline Diamond (PCD). Experiments were conducted based on the established Taguchi’s Design of Experiments (DO...

An experimental study of non-destructive testing on glass fibre reinforced polymer composites after high velocity impact event

A non-destructive testing method on Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) after high velocity impact event using single stage gas gun (SSGG) is presented. Specimens of Ctype and E-type fibreglass reinforcement, which were fabricated with 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm thicknesses and size 100 mm x 100 mm, were subjected to a high velocity impact with three types of bullets: conical, hemispherical and ...
